As of Tuesday (21) morning, a 104-year-old woman from Hastings has raised more than £40,000 for the British Heart Foundation by walking a steep hill four times a day.
Joan Willet said Captain Sir Thomas Moore inspired her to take on the 0.3 mile walk, four times a day, back in May.
The Old Hastings House resident completed 17.3 miles by her 104th birthday on Sunday (19).
Joan has lived at the care home for 22 years, and they have been uploading pictures and messages to her JustGiving page over the last couple of months.

The money is being raised for the British Heart Foundation.
On the fundraising page, Joan said:
"The British Heart Foundation has had a profound effect on my life, mainly twenty-two years ago when I had exploratory heart surgery where I was given a life expectancy of one to two years and Twenty-two years later I'm still here.
"The BHF has helped halve the number of people dying from heart and circulatory disease in the UK but sadly every day hundreds of people lose their lives.
"It's only thanks to support from people like us that the BHF can create new treatments and discover new cures.
"£24 could pay for two hours of research by an early career scientist, but every pound helps."
Joan smashed her target of £500 by May 23 and has now raised more than £40,000.
