£13m Worth Of Unused Tesco Clubcard Vouchers Expire This Month - Worth Up To £39m In Savings

More than two million Tesco customers could lose out on a total of £13m worth of Clubcard vouchers if they don't use them before they expire this month.

The vouchers, first issued in November 2020, will expire on 30 November this year.

But if unused, they will simply expire - meaning customers lose out on the savings.

The money could provide some relief to shoppers after it was revealed the average annual grocery shop has risen by almost £40 in a month as grocery inflation hits 14.7%

The vouchers can also be tripled in value and used with more than 100 "reward partners" and spent on anything from spa days to a FitBit, or a meal out at Pizza Express.

This means the total value of the vouchers could make up £39m in savings.

The supermarket giant is also giving Clubcard members a double boost and sending an additional £100m in vouchers out in November.

Tesco group director of loyalty and membership Tash Whitmey said:

"We want to help our customers to have a joyful and affordable Christmas and Clubcard is the best way to get great value with Tesco - from Clubcard Rewards to thousands of exclusive deals through Clubcard Prices.

"With more than £13m worth of Clubcard vouchers due to expire this month, we're reminding customers to spend them to help spread the cost of Christmas - whether that's getting ahead on their festive food shop or by picking up an extra stocking filler."

In October, the boss of the UK's biggest retailer says it was "inflating prices a little bit less and a little bit later" than the competition as families' budgets are squeezed.

A recent report found consumer spending rose 3.5% in October, but Britons are still cutting back ahead of Christmas.
