A 20 year old motorcyclist from Dorchester has died after a crash on the A286 Birdham Road in Chichester yesterday (Wednesday).
The incident involving a grey Toyota Hilux and a green Kawasaki motorcycle occurred about 5.38pm and led to both vehicles catching fire.
Firefighters used breathing apparatus and hoses to extinguish one of the vehicles which was well alight.
The motorcyclist – a 20-year-old man from Dorchester in Dorset – was pronounced dead at the scene.
His next of kin have been informed.
The Toyota driver – a 27-year-old man from Midhurst – was uninjured.
A section of the road was closed until about midnight as collision investigations were carried out.
