Two people in Eastbourne have had what police believe to be ammonia thrown in their faces by a motorist they tried to help after a crash.
Officers say the male driver of a black Renault Megane, involved in the collision in St. Anne's Road, attacked the by-standers around 9 on Saturday morning (August 29).
He reportedly got out of his vehicle before throwing the liquid at those who tried to help him.
He then left the scene.
The two men who were attacked are receiving medical treatment.
According to police, the incident is being treated as "isolated", and there is not thought to be any further risk to the public.
