Another section of Eastbourne hotel collapses

Another section of an iconic hotel on Eastbourne seafront, which was destroyed by fire, has collapsed. A loud bang was reported, before a large cloud of dust went up, as more of the Claremont Hotel fell down in the strong winds on Saturday (14 December). The Victorian hotel, which has stood on Eastbourne seafront since 1855, went up in flames on the morning of Friday 22 November and saw firefighters from across both East and West Sussex attend the scene. Sea water was also pumped to help tackle the flames. The seafront adjacent has remained closed to traffic ever since.
