Appeal To Find Sexual Assault Victim In Hastings

Police are appealing for a woman to come forward in connection with a sexual assault in Hastings.

Door staff at a bar in the town centre, alerted officers on patrol in Robertson Street to an assault happening at 10.30pm on Friday, March 18th.

Police arrested a 26-year-old man from Bexhill on suspicion of assault and he's been released under investigation while they investigate.

The victim left the scene outside the HSBC bank branch before officers could speak with her.

Police are asking for the woman, who is described as white and wearing a leopard print dress, to come forward.

They also want any further witnesses to come forward and report information to Sussex Police online or call 101 and quote serial 1530 of 18/03.

Police say they were in town on the night as part of Project WAVE (Wellbeing And Vulnerability Engagement), a project with a focus on keeping people safe during the night time economy.
