
Armed officers were among police responding to an incident in St Leonards this morning (Monday 4).
Police said it's after concerns for the welfare and safety of a man living at a property in De Cham Road, just before 10am.
There were also reports of a firearm to be present.
The man was found to be safe and no firearm was found by police.
A spokesperson from Sussex Police said:
"Officers were called to an address in De Cham Rd, St Leonards, at 9.52am on Monday morning 4 January, due to concerns for the welfare and safety of a man living there.
"Enquiries have been made and the man was found to be safe.
"Armed officers were included in the police response as a firearm was reported to be present. However no firearm was found and there is no danger to local people."
