Arrest made after man left seriously injured in Littlehampton assault

A man has been arrested in connection with an attack in Littlehampton which left another man with serious head injuries. Police were called to South Terrace just after 7.05pm on Wednesday (April, 15) after two men, known to each other, were involved in an altercation. Officers said one of them was seriously injured and was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton. A 48-year-old man from Lancing was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and remains in custody at this time. DI Kimberly May said: "We believe this to be an isolated incident whereby the two men are known to each other. "Anyone who witnessed the assault or has any other information to assist our investigation should make contact with us." Anyone with information is asked to call 101, quoting reference number 1294 of 15/04.
