Attack in Hastings: woman on park bench suffers multiple injuries

A woman has been attacked and left with multiple injuries, as she sat on a park bench in Hastings. According to Sussex Police, on Friday evening (27 December) a woman in her 30s climbed the steps accessed from Exmouth Place in the Old Town which leads to the West Hill. She subsequently sat on the second to last bench at the top of the hill. Around 9.30pm a man, described as long-haired, approached the woman from behind and attacked her, leaving the victim with multiple facial and abdominal injuries as a result of punches and kicks. The victim was taken to Conquest Hospital, Hastings, for treatment. Police attended the location and conducted an area search but the suspect was not found. A witness appeal has been launched, with information welcomed via online reporting, or calls to 101 quoting 1369 of 27/12.
