Specialist emergency services workers who deal with hazardous chemicals attended Battle yesterday evening (August 9), after a report of a man's body in a car.
Police were called to Marley Lane at around 5pm.
Officers said it was thought there may have been hazardous chemical substances in the vehicle, and the road was closed while specially-trained emergency services attended the scene.
It was later confirmed that no hazardous chemicals were detected and no danger existed to the wider public.
Police confirmed this morning that inquiries continue, but gave no further information.
