Police have confirmed the bodies of two women have been retrieved this morning (Monday, 18) from the cliffs at Peacehaven. Officers said they were called to The Highway this morning, where an operation was carried out to retrieve the bodies, with assistance from the coastguard. Police said both women were declared dead at the scene. Formal identification has yet to take place and an investigation is ongoing.
