Boy Arrested After Smoke Bomb Thrown Inside Hastings Shop

Police are appealing for witnesses and footage after a smoke bomb was thrown inside a shop in Hastings.

It happened at around 9.50pm last Monday (June 27) at Paper Baker in Bohemia Road.

Three boys had entered the shop wearing masks and dark clothing and caused damage to some stock.

No one in the shop was physically harmed and nothing was taken.

 After the incident, the boys ran off in the direction of Alexandra Park.

A 16-year-old boy has since been arrested on suspicion of criminal damage and remains in custody.

Officers investigating the incident are appealing for any witnesses to come forward, including anyone who may have captured any relevant dash cam footage from the area at the relevant time.
