
A fire at a building in Brighton this morning (Friday) has prompted a call out for firefighters.
Crews from Preston Circus, Hove, Roedean, Lewes and Barcombe are at the scene in North Street.
They were called at 5.13am.
Teams are using an Aerial Ladder Platform and Hose Reel Jet to extinguish the fire.
There are no reported injuries.
People are being asked to avoid the area.

Eight crews have now been mobilised to the scene.

Police have now closed the road.
*UPDATED *1.35pm
Firefighters will remain at the scene all day.
4 appliances remain on scene continuing 'complex work'.
The road is still closed.

Crews are using 4 Breathing Apparatus & 2 main jets to extinguish the fire.

Update (09:03)- We are now downscaling this incident and some crews are leaving the scene. Firefighters are currently cutting away to ensure that the fire hasn't spread and are making the scene safe.
