A person has been rescued following a fire on the first and second floors of a house in Shaftesbury Road.
East Sussex Fire & Rescue were called at around 4.30 this afternoon (Monday, May 24th).
Six appliances arrived at the scene from Brighton, Roedean, Hove and Seaford as well as West Sussex Fire & Rescue, to tackle the blaze.
An aerial ladder was used to assist in the rescue and a person was passed into the care of South East Coast Ambulance Service.
There'll be an investigation to establish the cause.
Emergency services have asked that people avoid the area as the road is closed.
