Brighton Vs Chelsea Premier League Preview: Potter Returns To Amex

Brighton and Hove Albion go in search of their first win since the start of Roberto De Zerbi's reign at the club.

The Italian manager has so far overseen two draws and three defeats in his five games at the helm.

Sadly, the fixtures don't get any easier, with a visit from title-chasing Chelsea tomorrow (Saturday, 3pm kick off) — and a familiar face set to take his place in the visitors' dugout.

Graham Potter returns to the Amex as opposition manager for the first time since he left Albion at the start of September.

In contrast to De Zerbi, an excellent start to life in South London has so far seen the Blues' manager unbeaten in his opening nine fixtures.

Chelsea are on the fringes of the top-four, while Brighton's recent malaise has seen them drop towards the bottom half of the table.

Footy Stats (c)

Brighton have a shocking all-time record against Chelsea.

The teams have met on 18 occasions, with Albion winning just once, five draws and 12 victories for Stamford Bridge side.

More encouragingly, last season them share two 1-1 draws in the league.

Injury news

Brighton's Adam Lallana and Joel Veltman both face late fitness tests after picking up slight knocks last weekend.

Kaoru Mitoma is likely to miss out, despite having returned to full training in recent days.

Long-term injuries see Chelsea trio N'Golo Kante, Reece James and Wesley Fofana sidelined until 2023.

Kalidou Koulibaly and Mateo Kovacic should be fit for the game after recovering from minor ailments.

Possible line-ups

Brighton (4-3-3):

Chelsea (5-4-1):

Prediction: Brighton 1 - 1 Chelsea

The Seagulls tend to raise their game against the better sides, and this should be no different.

A diplomatic point will leave Messrs De Zerbi and Potter content with their afternoon's work.
