Brighton Winter Fayre Launches Spectacular Season Of Festive Fun

Brighton & Hove has officially embraced a new holiday tradition with the successful launch of the Brighton Winter Fayre, which opened last night on Thursday (December 5).

The evening brought together the Mayor of Brighton & Hove, local councillors, residents and visitors alike for festive entertainment, creative workshops, and seasonal cheer – all with a distinctly Brighton twist.

Unfortunately, due to high winds and adverse weather conditions, the event closed earlier than anticipated and the site will remain closed this weekend to prioritise the health and safety of our visitors and staff.

Organisers emphasised that this decision ensures everyone’s well being during the forecast challenging weather and we are currently working to reschedule as much of the programming as possible.

The Brighton Winter Fayre is expected to resume as usual for the following two weekends, running from 12–15 December and 19–22 December.

Held in the heart of the city at St. Peter’s Square, the Brighton Winter Fayre delivers a packed program for all ages, blending the magic of Christmas with Brighton’s signature eclectic vibe.

From immersive children’s workshops and dazzling carol singers to the buzzing Winter Nights events for grown-ups, the Fayre provides something for everyone, establishing itself as a must-visit destination on the holiday calendar.

“We’re thrilled by the response to the first evening of the Brighton Winter Fayre,” said organisers Anne-Marie, Becky, and Lisa.

“The energy, diversity, and creativity of Brighton were on full display, and we’re incredibly proud to have brought this to life for the community.

"While we’re saddened to have to close this weekend due to the forecast weather, the safety of our visitors and staff must come first. We can’t wait to welcome everyone back for the next two weekends.”

With its successful debut, the Brighton Winter Fayre is already being hailed as a new seasonal tradition for the city, promising even more surprises, entertainment, and festive magic.
