Cannabis Worth Thousands Seized From Brighton 'Factory'

Police in Brighton have seized cannabis with an estimated street value of £45-65,000 from a disused building being used as a growing facility.

The plants, which were drying out and 'awaiting further preparation,'  were discovered last Thursday (Dec 30) at Stanford House, in South Road, Brighton, after police received reports of suspicious activity there.

Police say 'commercial cannabis sites' of this type are often 'closely linked with organised crime including modern slavery and human trafficking'.

No arrests have been made, but police are in the process of investigating the identities of those involved.

Detective Sergeant Chris Lane said:

"We are particularly keen to speak to anyone who may have travelled in a vehicle equipped with dashcam along South Road, Brighton between 7.40am and 8.20am on Thursday 30 December as they may have inadvertently captured evidence relevant to the investigation.
