A car in Bexhill has been set on fire, deliberately police think, after an offender is believed to have smashed its window.

Officers said a suspect is thought to have been in another vehicle that, earlier, pulled up alongside the car that was targeted in King Offa Way on Monday (April 19).

Shortly after 9am that day, the window of a blue Ford Fiesta was attacked before, around 3.55pm, police received a report of the same car being set alight.

The fire is being treated as deliberate, and two males were seen running from the scene eastbound along King Offa Way, towards Bexhill Old Town.

Officers investigating the matter are keen to speak to anyone who saw what happened in either incident, or who may have witnessed any suspicious behaviour in the vicinity.

They would also like to speak to anyone who may have captured any relevant dash cam footage from the area.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police online or by calling 101 quoting serial 847 of 19/04.

Alternatively, independent charity Crimestoppers can be called anonymously on 0800 555 111.
