Celebrating 100 Years Of Girlguiding In Battle This Weekend

Girlguiding Battle District will be celebrating 100 years of Girlguiding on Saturday (July 2), 2-4pm at Battle Guide Hall.

The special tea party for current and previous members will be a chance for Rainbow, Brownie, Guide, Ranger or Leaders in the district to come along, reminisce and share their experiences from their Girlguiding days.

And in keeping with traditional girlguiding practices, a special badge has been made which will be available on the day along with district and division badges.

Members will be welcomed on the day by the current District Commissioner who will join the County Commissioner and other members for tea and sandwiches with celebration cake and cava.

Members and previous members are asked to bring along badges, books, blankets and memorabilia to reflect on the organisation over the last 100 years.

The idea is to piece together some moments in history - who their commissioners, leaders and unit members have been as well as exciting experiences they've had and made possible for the young members.

The event is commemorated by a framed collage featuring photographs from 1935, 1955, the registration certificate from 2nd July 1922 and event badges.

Battle Guide Hall, Northtrade Road, Battle TN33 0HB. For further details contact Tori on 07917408603.
