Reports of two missing people in the Seven Sisters Country Park prompted a call out for police and Newhaven Coastguard last night (Monday).
Following an extensive search, the individuals were located – who had been cut off by the tide.
Newhaven Lifeboat was also requested to assist with the rescue and helped bring the pair ashore.
The incident has prompted an appeal by Newhaven Coastguard – which is urging people to always inform someone of where you are and to check the local tide times.
