As of Friday (May, 15) at 6am, the following figures are the known number of Covid-19 cases in each district: Brighton and Hove: 404 East Sussex: 652 West Sussex: 1,264 Total: 2,320 #ClapForCarers People across the county displayed their appreciation for our frontline workers again last night during #ClapForCarers at 8pm. Our Local Democracy Reporter said it's in response to the governement's £2billion pledge to get people to work during social distancing. It could mean more cycle lanes for the A23, and extra room for bikes on the A259 coast road. Letters An illustration student at the University of Brighton has begun a project using handwritten letters from around the world to make a time capsule about the coronavirus pandemic. Alice Gompels is appealing for more notes describing lockdown to add to around 130 already collected. 'Letters from Covid' will be shared online to help build a sense of connection during isolation. Chichester's coronavirus recovery Councillors in Chichester are being redirected from their current work under lockdown. Officers want councillors to step away from emergency decisions, and begin to work on a coronavirus recovery plan.
