Here’s all the coronavirus related news that’s gone on in Sussex over the last 24 hours. As of Friday (April, 17) at 7am the following figures are the known number of Covid-19 cases in each district: Brighton and Hove: 233 East Sussex: 383 West Sussex: 679 Total: 1,295 Council staff allocated slots for drive-through testing Brighton & Hove City Council have had slots allocated to staff at the new drive-through testing facility at Gatwick airport.
Tests will be offered to staff who are currently absent with mild Covid-19 symptoms who work in nursing homes, care homes and in-home care.
As well as other essential staff who are self-isolating due to a member of their household having Covid-19 symptoms; the household member will be offered this test rather than staff member.
Eligible staff are being contacted this week and priority for testing will be given to services experiencing severe staff shortages.
Reboot A Sussex Police programme aimed at reaching children who may be vulnerable to criminal or antisocial behaviour has moved all of it's activities, including sports, online. 'Reboot' has already helped nearly 900 families in less than a year. Jumbulance The Jumbulance Trust normally takes severely ill or disabled people on holiday in a medically equipped coach.
