Coronavirus: The latest developments in Sussex (Friday, April 24)

Here’s all the coronavirus related news that’s gone on in Sussex over the last 24 hours As of Friday (April, 24) at 6am, the following figures are the known number of Covid-19 cases in each district: Brighton and Hove: 334 East Sussex: 479 West Sussex: 945 Total: 1,758 Council respond to care home worries Brighton and Hove City Council responded to an open letter from the staff at Ireland Lodge care home in Woodingdean. Workers expressed major concerns about their safety and lack of protective gear, after they revealed patients being discharged from hospital and admitted to them without being tested for Covid-19. The council said they are working with staff and union reps to resolve the situation. Read more here. East Sussex's Fire Authority disregard union protests The group who oversee East Sussex's firefighters chose to start an immediate consultation, despite protests from unions that to consider redundancies during the coronavirus lockdown was not right. The public will be asked their opinion on major changes for the service.
