Coronavirus: The latest developments in Sussex (Monday, 30 March)

  All you need to know about what's going on across the county at the beginning of week two of the UK 'lockdown'. As of Monday (March, 30) at 7am the following figures are the known number of Covid-19 cases in each district: Brighton and Hove: 33 East Sussex: 44 West Sussex: 113 Crawley lock ins Police in Crawley said they attended a number of house parties and gatherings over the weekend. Local pubs have also reportedly been sending information about 'paid lock ins'. Officers said they checked every pub in the area over the weekend to ensure establishments were sticking to the guidelines.

The Open House said donations of tinned food, sauces and fresh food can still be made without any contact. University of Sussex help local NHS Staff and students are answering calls from Diagnostic Labs at the Royal Sussex County hospital to help with their normal workload, while other staff are reallocated to Covid-19 testing. 16 staff and students, mostly science and pharmacy undergraduates, will receive training and volunteer 25-30 hours a week. Gatwick Express suspended All Gatwick Express services have been suspended until further notice. Southern and Thameslink will still stop at the airport.
