Here’s all you need to know about what’s going on in Sussex as the UK reaches the end of it’s second week under ‘lockdown’. As of Saturday (April, 4) at 7am the following figures are the known number of Covid-19 cases in each district: Brighton and Hove: 71 East Sussex: 129 West Sussex: 199 There has been a total of 82 new confirmed cases in Sussex in the past 24 hours. Weekend weather warnings Temperatures are set to increase across Sussex this weekend, but we're being asked not to go out in public as the lockdown continues. Health secretary Matt Hancock has insisted 'we cannot relax our discipline now' and we're being warned the pandemic will claim more lives in the coming weeks if we head outdoors. Sussex Police officials are echoing the advice, while police and crime commissioner Katy Bourne said unnecessary journeys potentially add strain to the emergency services. She also warned that, where advice is ignored, police will need to use the new enforcement laws to protect the public. Rother District Council said all car-parks serving Camber Sands are now closed, to help prevent visitors spreading the coronavirus. "1066 Country is closed" — that's according to 1066 Country Marketing, the alliance group that normally encourages visits to Hastings, Battle, Bexhill and Rye. Bosses said all attractions have shut, and they're asking all visitors to stay away from beaches or countryside parks. Other The Samaritans in Worthing are making a direct appeal for support, after they lost significant funding for their free listening service.
