Here’s all the coronavirus related news that’s gone on in Sussex over the last 24 hours. As of Thursday (May, 14) at 6am, the following figures are the known number of Covid-19 cases in each district: Brighton and Hove: 403 East Sussex: 652 West Sussex: 1,260 Total: 2,315 Antibody test An antibody test for coronavirus developed by a company based in West Sussex has been called '100% accurate'. Multinational Swiss healthcare company, Roche, could be rolling out the tests UK wide this month. Read more here. Buses More buses will be on the road from next Monday (May, 18) in Brighton and Hove. Brighton and Hove Buses said seven routes, including the 'coaster' number 12 will have higher service levels, and they want to help people continue with their social distancing. The routes that will be operating with increased frequency are 1, 1A, 12, 12A, 24, 26 and 49.

They want three minute videos about what it's like being confined. Postcards are also being asked for, which will also be added to their project called 'From Home'. Schools Schools in East Sussex have come under the radar by local National Education Union reps as being 'unprepared' to reopen, if they are asked to, on June 1. The County Council commented that while they were confused about how they could safely return, they are keen to get as many children back to school as possible. It was also suggested to copy methods used in Europe such as staggared arrival and departure times. Facemasks A scientist from the University of Brighton used his garage to make a testing centre for face masks. Dr. Nicholas Miché built equipment following an urgent request from Manchester City Council, who said they received around 70,000 masks that weren't certified. The university said they all failed to reach sugical standards. Worthing Pier Worthing Pier reopened yesterday, with social distancing measures in place. There are markings on the floor, and a one way system is in place. Adur and Worthing Councils also said they are looking and health and safety improvements to allow people to fish from the landing stage.Visitors to #Worthing Pier are being asked to follow a new one way system to ensure social distancing is maintained.
