Here’s all the coronavirus related news that’s gone on in Sussex over the last 7 days.

As of Wednesday, (July 16) at 6am, the following figures are the known number of Covid-19 cases in each district:

East Sussex - 1,545

West Sussex - 2,717

Brighton and Hove - 779

Sussex - 5,041

Key events in Brighton that are normally held in Madeira Drive will be able to return.

Events could return to Brighton's Madeira Drive if plans set to be submitted to a committee go ahead.

Madeira Drive has a long history of hosting key events in the city including the Brighton Marathon, London to Brighton Bike Ride, and the Veteran Car Run.

Bars, cafes and restaurants in Worthing and Adur are being urged to go al fresco this summer.

Bars, cafes and restaurants are encouraged to go al fresco as part of wider efforts to help Adur and Worthing bounce back from the COVID-19 pandemic.

From the end of July, the government is set to give Adur & Worthing Councils powers to issue licenses to food and drink outlets that want to put tables and chairs outside their premises.

The coronavirus has prompted Labour and Conservative councillors in Crawley not to argue, but to form a coalition for stability.

Late on Tuesday (July 14) night, normally opposing political groups on Crawley Borough Council agreed to govern the authority together.

In a historic joint statement by the leaders of the two groups, they said that any other form of governance could "risk paralysis" at the very time that the community most needs a stable council.

A man from Chichester has been spared jail after selling fake Covid-19 treatment kits all over the world.

A man from Sussex has been given a ten month suspended sentence and 170 hours unpaid work after admitting to making fake Covid-19 treatment kits and selling them across the world.

Police said Frank Ludlow, 59, of East Marden, Chichester, pleaded guilty to attempting to supply an unauthorised medicinal product, possessing an unauthorised medicinal product and assembling an unauthorised product.
