Oaklands Nursing Home During the last PMQs yesterday, Hove MP Peter Kyle addressed problems that are facing Oaklands Nursing Home in Hove. Kyle said the home requested test kits after a number of residents began to show symptoms, including a 94-year-old woman. They were left waiting 10 days for a test kit and are still awaiting more. Kyle added that staff at the care home were pleading for protective gear, which they had not received. Biggest overnight jump Yesterday saw the biggest overnight jump of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Sussex. Numbers almost doubled, moving from 56 to 98. There was a gentler rise over the last 24 hours, currently the figure stands at 104. Fire safety checks are conducted by phone All chief fire officers say the full 999 service continues, while most fire safety checks are conducted by phone. Social distancing Sussex Police said they're seeing people practicing good social distancing in parks in Newhaven, Saltdean and Seaford. 'Foreshore service' Chichester District Council said it's 'foreshore service' of advice for people using Bracklesham Bay is suspended. Flowers Key workers across the county are now being treated with flowers. Dental nurses and receptionists at Mydentist in Bognor were given bouquets of flowers by Morrison's. Tesco Holmbush also donated flowers to the Royal Sussex County Hospital.
