Here’s all the coronavirus related news that’s gone on in Sussex over the last 24 hours As of Wednesday (April, 22) at 6am, the following figures are the known number of Covid-19 cases in each district: Brighton and Hove: 319 East Sussex: 457 West Sussex: 895 Total: 1,671 Visitors' car towed A family who were driving to Brighton were pulled over on the M25 on Monday (April, 20), when officers noticed a man on his phone. They soon found that the driver was unlicensed and uninsured, and the three children were not wearing seatbelts. The family said they were "bored" of being in, and wanted to get some "fresh air". Kent Police towed their car.

Trevor Dangerfield, 39, of Singleton Walk, Bexhill, pleaded guilty to assaulting a police officer and was sentenced to 18 weeks in prison, suspended for a year. Read more here. Trading Standards West Sussex Trading Standards said they had to hand out three notices to non-essential businesses that had failed to close, in line with coronavirus regulations. Staff said the team had received more than 200 complaints in relation to Covid-19 guidance. Green Councillor signs letter Zoe Nicholson, the Green councillor leading Lewes District Council, has signed a joint letter to Downing Street, requesting better funding to help with the coronavirus lockdown. The Green party are not only asking for emergency funds, but also money to help fight long-term deficits.
