Coronavirus: University of Sussex suspends all teaching in response to outbreak

The University of Sussex has this morning (Monday, 16) suspended all teaching for the week as a response to the coronavirus outbreak. The university's management took the decision to suspend teaching with immediate effect, and begin online teaching from next Monday (March, 23). In an email to students, the university said: "The wellbeing of our students will always be our number one priority and we hope you understand this measure has been taken as we believe this is best for our community." Although there will be no classes, the campus will remain open and 'essential services' will still be provided. Students were reassured that they will be given specific information on how to use the online service. The institution said students, staff and visitors to the campus should continue to follow official guidance from the government and Public Health England. They added that they will communicate at the earliest opportunity if there are any significant developments to share with the community.
