After a five-week trial, a man from Crawley has been cleared of murdering a woman in Warren Drive, in the Ifield area of the town.

Louise Harry Navarre, 57, a cleaner of Blackwater Lane in Crawley, was found not guilty by a jury at Guildford Crown Court yesterday (November 4).

Marie Denise Toulsee had been found dead in a flat in Warren Drive in Crawley on Wednesday July 11, 2018.

Emergency services had attended reports of a fire at the property that afternoon.

Detective Inspector Chris Rambour, of the Surrey and Sussex Major Crime Team, said:

“I’d like to thank the jury and all witnesses who provided evidence during this five-week trial.

"We respect the decision of the court, and our thoughts remain with the victim’s family.”
