Crawley Stabbing On Thursday 20 August: Man Arrested

A local man has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent in connection with a stabbing in the town.

Officers were called to Berrymeade Walk following an altercation involving two men just before 6pm yesterday evening (20 August).

The victim, a man in his 50s, suffered multiple serious injuries and was taken to hospital where he remains in a stable condition.

A 59-year-old man from Crawley was arrested nearby on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent.

At lunchtime on Friday, police said he remained in custody while the investigation is ongoing.

The victim and suspect are known to each other and police are not looking for anyone else in connection to the assault.

A witness appeal has begun, with reports welcomed both online and by telephone to 101, quoting reference 1106 of 20/08.
