'Devastated': Hartfield's Pooh Bridge Closed 'Indefinitely'

Pooh Corner - Facebook

Pooh Corner Tea Room in Hartfield says it's 'devastated' to announce that Pooh Bridge is now closed 'indefinitely'.

The popular bridge collapsed in the recent bad weather after a tree fell onto it.

The Ashdown Forest location was part of A. A. Milne's inspiration for the Winnie The Pooh books.

East Sussex County Council and the landowner have closed the footpath to the public.

Work on removing the tree and fixing the bridge is expected to get underway in the near future - which is why the council is asking people to keep away.

An announcement is expected to be made once repairs are complete.
