Much-loved Brighton music personality Disco Pete is to be laid to rest this morning (Monday 8 March), with his family and friends inviting Covid-safe tributes, as the horse and cart carrying him passes along the cortege route.
His family said Pete Turner's funeral this morning at 11am will be preceded by a short procession, running from the top of Bear Road at 10.40am, arriving at the Downs Crematorium chapel at 10.50am.
Attendance at the chapel, or outside, is forbidden by Covid-19 restrictions.
The family requested no flowers, but asked instead for charitable donations to be made.
Disco Pete said to the Huffington Post:
"Age is immaterial.
"If you have a talent or hobby, use it — make the most of it, try and inspire others.
"I love it when little lads copy all my moves.
"When I'm dancing I'm in a world of my own.
"Dancing takes you away from life, it's great for overcoming physical or mental problems."
A tribute page has been set up by the funeral director, which you can find here:

Disco Pete was 84.
