Driver left with 'potentially life-threatening' injuries after car crashes into tree in Bexhill

A man has been left with 'potentially life-threatening' injuries after the car he was driving crashed into a tree off the A259 at Bexhill, before rebounding into the road. Police said the 24-year-old local man was driving along the King Offa Way dual carriageway at 4pm on Saturday afternoon (February, 1) when the incident happened. According to officers, he was heading east in a black Vauxhall Corsa when the car left the road close to the bridge spanning Holliers Hill, struck a tree and rebounded back into the road. He was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton with what police described as 'serious, potentially life-threatening' injuries. No other vehicles were involved, and the A259 was closed in both directions while the incident was dealt with. Anyone who saw what happened, or has any other information, is asked to contact collision.appeal@sussex.pnn.police.uk or phone 101, quoting Operation Dalewood.   More Radio is continuously dedicated to providing a quality news service on-air and online, reporting local stories that matter across Sussex.
