Driver of car which crashed into tree in Bexhill dies

Sussex Police have confirmed the driver of a car which crashed into a tree on the A259 at Bexhill at the weekend has since died. Officers have now named the 24-year-old victim as Matthew Knott, of London Road, in the town. He was driving a black Vauxhall Corsa on Saturday afternoon (February, 1) which collided with a tree in King Offa Way. Police said he was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton, but passed away yesterday afternoon (Monday, 3). Officers are continuing to appeal for witnesses to the incident.
