East Sussex Farm To Provide On-Site Samaritans Support

Staff at Wylands Farm with a Samaritan.

Wylands Farm in Battle is teaming up with Hastings and Rother Samaritans to support people this summer.

Staff at the farm in Powdermills Lane - part of The Family Parks Group - say they're keen to work closely with local communities and 'give something back to people living across Hastings and Rother'.

In July, volunteers from the Samaritans will be at the farm every Monday - 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th and 31st between 10am and 2pm.

Volunteers will be located in the cafe and there will be a place to retreat to if a discreet and private conversation is needed.

Donna Bull from Wylands said:

"We are very privileged to be working with the Hastings and Rother Samaritans, who of course carry out such a wonderful and valuable role.

"Please come down if you need to or wish to, and have a chat with their amazing volunteers.

"Here at Wylands, we have expanded rapidly in the past 12 months, with thanks to our committed customers, and now we want to give back to the community that has supported our growth.

"It's been a great start to the summer, and we are very busy.

"With lots to do here at Wylands Farm, we encourage everyone to come and take a look at our facilities.

"The Samaritans are a very special charity."

Samaritan Shirley, from the Hastings and Rother Samaritans Outreach Team, has thanked Wylands for their support.

She said:

"Samaritans do not judge or offer advice or opinions.

"We are here to listen when things are difficult, help people explore their feelings, and hopefully help them to find their own way forward."

Attractions at the farm include a cafe, farm shop, business centre, woodland walk, fishing and camping sites.
