
A man out walking in Eastbourne was left with serious injuries after a hit-and-run yesterday evening (July 26).
Police said the victim was struck by a dark-coloured vehicle whose driver failed to stop.
The collision occurred on a zebra crossing in Upperton Road, close to the junction with Ocklynge Road around 7.50pm.
Police and ambulance services responded to the scene, and officers kept the road closed for a time.
A witness appeal began last night, with officers asking particularly for information about any dark-coloured vehicle with obvious damage being driven in the area.
Relevant CCTV or dash-cam footage is also being requested.
