New research from Canine Cottages has sniffed out the eight best dog friendly locations across the UK, with Eastbourne making the final cut.
Ten sets of dog owners travel the UK comparing walks to find the best ones, helping them reach a final list of eight elite destinations,
Barrie the Anatolian Shepherd visited Eastbourne in Sussex, with her owner describing Eastbourne is a very dog-friendly place — most cafes and restaurants have dog bowls with fresh water and dog treats.
About half an hour's walk from Beach Hut, they discovered Sovereign Harbour Marina, which boasts a large retail park with a grocery supermarket and well-known shops.
They also highly recommended paying a visit to Eastbourne’s Towner Art Gallery, the colourful frontage described as a great background for Instagram images.
The area of Seaford was described as 'a sweet little town with a long promenade', while the nearby nature reserve and Cuckmere Haven — which received bonus points because it featured in the Harry Potter films and Robin Hood — were both singled out for praise.

The other seven destinations selected are Fife, Shropshire, the Forest of Dean, the Brecon Beacons, the Isle of Skye, Clovelly in Devon and Yarmouth on the Isle of Wight.
Canine Cottages, which conducts the research, is a company dedicated to 'dog-tastic' vacations spanning England, Scotland and Wales.
It features almost 4,500 immaculate, pet-friendly places to stay where four-legged friends are not just ‘allowed’ but encouraged and welcomed with open arms.
