Elderly Man Struck By Motorcycle In Mayfield Airlifted To Hospital With Life Threatening Injuries

An 81-year-old man has been flown to hospital with life threatening injuries after colliding with a motorcycle in Mayfield yesterday (Thursday).

Police said an elderly pedestrian who was pushing a bicycle was struck by a red Ducatti motorcycle travelling south on the A267, at around 4.50pm.

The pedestrian, an 81-year-old man from Alfriston, was taken to Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton by air ambulance.

The motorcyclist, a 53-year-old local man, sustained a serious foot injury and was taken to Tunbridge Wells Hospital in Pembury for treatment.
