Family Pays Tribute To 22 Year Old Woman With 'The Biggest Smile' After A27 Collision

The family of a 22-year-old woman from Bexhill, who sadly passed away after a collision on the A27 on Thursday (June 4), has paid tribute to a 'very loving daughter'.

Meghan Pollentine, from Pebsham Road, was involved in the collision on the A27 at Polegate whilst returning home from a night shift.

Emergency services were called to the scene near to the entrance of Folkington Manor at 5.24am where a Ford Ka had been in collision with a Ford Transit van.

Meghan's family has released a statement paying tribute.

They said:

"Meghan was sadly taken from us travelling back from a night shift as a passenger with a colleague from work. Sadly, she never regained consciousness. As a family, we would like to to thank all the members of the public and emergency services who attended.

"You were a beautiful, happy soul, who never saw wrong in anybody. You always had the biggest smile and lit up any room. A very loving, daughter, sister, aunty and girlfriend, you will be missed by so many."

The driver of the Ka, a 27-year-old man from Hastings, and the driver of the Transit, a 54-year-old man from Polegate, were taken to hospital with critical injuries. Both remained in hospital on Monday (June 8).

Anyone who witnessed the incident or has dashcam or other information about the vehicles involved is asked to email collision.appeal@sussex.pnn.police.uk or call 101 quoting Operation Paragon.
