Fatal Collision Near Worthing - Police Appeal For Witnesses

There's a witness appeal following a fatal collision on the A280 Long Furlong near Worthing, during which an 85-year-old woman died at the scene.

It happened at around 12.18pm on Tuesday (May 31) between a Fiat Panda travelling southbound and a DAF truck travelling in the opposite direction, close to Patching.

Members of the public and paramedics attempted to help the woman at the scene, but to no avail.

No other injuries were reported.

Part of the road was closed for several hours to allow emergency services to investigate and recover debris.

They would like to thank the public for their patience and understanding.

Anyone who witnessed the crash or captured any relevant dash cam footage is urged to email collision.appeal@sussex.police.uk quoting Operation Folkstone.
