Fire Successfully Tackled in Ferring

West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service

Three crews from West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service put out flames in Ferring yesterday (March 14), during an operation taking less than two hours.

A property on Ferring Street had caught fire, with an alert being received by the service's joint control centre at 7.55am.

The retained crew (on-call firefighters) from East Preston were joined by two crews from Worthing Fire STation.

A spokesperson for West Sussex Fire and Rescue said:

"Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used two high pressure hose reels, two CO2 extinguishers, one dry powder extinguisher and a covering jet to extinguish the fire."

The service added that crews were able to leave by 9.43am.
