Crews from Burgess Hill, Haywards Heath, Partridge Green and Storrington have been tackling a fire in the open in Sayers Common.
Teams were called to Furzeland Way just after 3pm yesterday (Monday).
Incident Commander Joe Bullingham said:
"We would like to take this opportunity to remind the public during these dry conditions that they refrain from burning household products outside".

Around an acre of grassland alight.
