Firework Finale Returns to Eastbourne Airbourne Thanks To New Sponsors

Eastbourne Airbourne 2022 will end this year with a spectacular firework finale, thanks to sponsorship from the Eastbourne Hospitality Association.

The four-day air show returns to the town from August 18-21 after a two year break due to the Covid-19 pandemic and organisers have confirmed the popular firework show will take place at 9pm on Sunday evening.

The display will begin at 9pm from the beaches near the Wish Tower, to enable younger families to visit and to support those using public transport.

Providing an additional boost to the economy, the glittering finale is expected to encourage visitors to stay into the evening, dining in local restaurants or even extending their stay overnight into Monday.

The display is being co-ordinated by Frontier Fireworks, one of the first firework companies in the UK to sign up to a carbon offsetting programme to reduce emissions across the industry.

Yvette Cowderoy, from the Eastbourne Hospitality Association Management Team, said:

“We are absolutely delighted to be sponsoring the firework finale at Airbourne this year.

“Visitors and residents alike look forward to the Sunday night firework display which comes at the end of the fantastic four-day extravaganza event."

It was revealed earlier this year that this year’s Airbourne could be the last if donations are not forthcoming from visitors and businesses.

Eastbourne Borough Council, which runs the event, says financial support is needed if the event is to continue in 2023 and beyond as it must run at no cost to the taxpayer.

Airbourne returns from August 18-21 and entry is free.
