Parts of Sussex saw significant flooding over the weekend, tempting some drivers to brave flooded areas to avoid longer journeys.
Following heavy rain across Sussex this weekend, East Sussex Fire & Rescue were tasked with rescuing six adults and a child from a car after they moved barriers and attempted to drive down a flooded road.

Lewes Fire Station reported similar incidents:
7 people and one child rescued from Barcombe Mills over night from vehicles in flood water, the road remains closed due to water and by three vehicles across the highway. Please do not drive around the road closure signs that are now in place. pic.twitter.com/3CKgjR2VYU

West Sussex County Council issued flood warnings on Saturday, particularly for Mock Bridge, near Shermanbury on the River Adur (below).
