Fire crews from across West Sussex have been tackling a blaze in Fontwell. Fire engines from Bognor, Chichester, Worthing and Littlehampton attended the scene in Fontwell Close at around 6.20pm last night (2 January), where a garage had caught light between two homes. High-pressure hose reel jets were used to fight the flames. Some households saw their power isolated for a time, during the incident. Nearby Arundel Road off the A27 roundabout had to be shut for a time, to allow firefighters to deal with the situation and it took nearly 3 hours for the fire to be put out. There are no reports of anyone being hurt or what caused the fire to start.
