Upgrades to the entrance of Gatwick Airport Station are on track, one year after the project to refurbish it first began.
Starting with the South Terminal airport link span and including the refit of the northern side, the works were complete in time for the reopening of international travel, last Monday (May 17).
The date also marked the anniversary of the start of the Gatwick Station project, which will increase capacity and improve accessibility.
The work should be complete in 2023.
In an email to customers, Network Rail said:
"Despite the unexpected challenge of a global pandemic, the project team and all delivery partners worked together to successfully re-plan work to take advantage of the drop in passenger numbers and press on with construction, while ensuring all workers are safe and the station is open to passengers."
