Green Land Rover abandoned after attempted ram raid at Eastbourne store

Police are investigating after an attempted ram raid at a Co-op store in Eastbourne in the early hours of this morning (November, 29). Officers responded to reports of a break-in at the store on Coppice Avenue, Willingdon, shortly after 1am. Police said a green Land Rover had been used in an attempt to steal a cash machine inside the store, but the efforts were unsuccessful. The vehicle was abandoned at the scene. The suspects reportedly fled the scene, possibly in a SUV 4x4-type vehicle or in a dark-coloured Peugeot 208. Anyone with information is asked to contact 101 quoting serial 66 of 29/11.
