WATCH: Hailsham's Knockhatch Opens New Zoo Area After Three-Year Delay

Knockhatch Adventure Park in Hailsham has finally opened its new zoo area, called Jungle Kingdom, delayed for three years due to the pandemic.

The new glass-walled enclosures feature several new species to Knockhatch, namely a banded mongoose, black-tailed prairie dogs and Tunisian spur-thighed tortoises.

You'll also find four short-claw Asian otters, which enjoy feeding time five times a day and have a pool that they love to dive into.

Resident Barney the Moluccan cockatoo has moved to a two-storey aviary and been joined by blue and gold macaws, cockatiels and an eclectic parrot.

Knockhatch says this is just phase one of a three phase development at the family-owned adventure park.
